New York, New York
Turned off by the Book Expo America’s steep entry prices, a group of
independent New York-based editors and writers decided to take their
publications to the street.
Driving a fruit-stand-like vehicle called the Truckazine, organizers
sold publications by Bomb, Cabinet, Broken Pencil, Relay and Stay free.
Over two days, Truckazine wandered through Manhattan then Brooklyn with a
final back-to-books reading by poets and novelists in Williamsburg’s
McCarren Park.
